Brother C. O. Larson

 -1942-

A master's job is never done, it lives on through the ages.

On January 9th the Installation of Officers was held and the new Master remarked, "that he would do his utmost to merit the distinction that had been conferred upon him this day." Afterwards dancing and refreshments were enjoyed by all.

Discussion in the February stated meeting varied from curtains in the cottage owned by the Lodge, to assisting Bro. Andersen on his farm. There were discussions on blacking out the Lodge room windows in case of night time attack, to the security of the autos in the parking lot to the security of the Lodge room itself in case of an attack. Having never really thinking about it, I guess our brethren would have to be concerned about their safety during such an ugly time in history.

In March there was a discussion of putting linoleum on the tables downstairs and although I am sure that they were done several times, they still had linoleum on them when we tore them out in 2000.

A motion was carried to remit the dues of those brethren serving their country in the armed forces as was done in World War One, if the Grand Lodge of California allowed it. The matter of line officers called to fight for their country was discussed and it was resolved that they may sit back in the same chair upon their return if they so desired.

On November 21 Bro. C. E. Mathews Past Master of Clovis Lodge was laid to rest at Clovis Cemetery. Kind words spoken of Bro. Mathews were," He will be greatly missed at our assemblies and among his friends."

On October 1, 1974 Bro. Carl Oscar Larson passed away after a long illness. Bro. Carl was quite active in all of the Masonic bodies at the time he was Master. A large group of his old friends attended the service.
